RELIEF showcases tightly executed relief prints using a wide range of techniques and varying scale. Each work plays on the word “relief” in two ways—as a printmaking mode and as a feeling, defined by Merriam-Webster as “the removal of something oppressive, painful, or distressing.” The subject matter of these prints is decidedly light at first glance, inviting viewers to take a breath and meditate on a minotaur in tighty-whities, fuzzy bunny families, or spiraling wolf packs.

Featuring: Daniella Napolitano (AR), Lilibet Wenge (MD), Heather O’Hara (PA), Johanna Mueller (CO), Juan Esparza (MD), Jun Lee (VA), Kill Joy (TX), Lili Arnold (CA), Melissa Harshman (GA), Nick Martinez (CA), Nicole Parker (MD), Rob Lindsay (VA), Santo Press (AZ), Tugboat Printshop (PA).
